The Silver Coho is found in very accessible bodies with fresh water such as the coastal waters, tributaries of big rivers or the Yukon River. If you’ll get one over 20 pounds, you can get a trophy certificate.

The Red Sockeye Salmon is considered to be the most delicious Pacific salmon. The popular fishing spots in Alaska are the rivers nearby Bristol Bay, the Kenai Peninsula or the Kasilof River. When one weights over 12 pounds, you are eligible for a trophy certificate.

The Pink Humpback is the smallest one and it’s common in September or August in coastal regions. It has an average of 3-5 pounds. If yours weighs more than 8 pounds, you can get a trophy.

The Chum Keta is mostly found in northwest or arctic regions. It is sometimes caught while trying to fish other species of salmon. It typically has between 10 and 15 pounds. If has over 15 lb, you can get a trophy certificate.

There is no better place on the planet to fish for salmon. Just pick a variety and go get it. You can choose a certain lodge according to the location and the proximity to a certain species. You won’t find any other place that offers such an abundance of salmon and such a captivating landscape to enjoy while fishing.
